Sidekicks School of Martial Arts in Burlington
6th Dan Black Belt

Kwanjangnim Miner started his training in 1978 in the art of Aikido. He received his Black Belt in Aikido in 1983 at which time he began his training in the Art of Taekwon-Do. Kwanjangnim Miner received his First Dahn Black Belt in Taekwon-Do in 1993 and his 6th Dahn (Master's level) in 2010.

From teaching adults and children since 1988, Kwanjangnim Miner has found a way to balance discipline and learning with fun and fitness. His techniques have helped him in his experience in dealing with children who suffer from A.D.D and A.D.H.D. He focuses on channeling their energy in a positive manner.

Kwanjangnim Miner was ranked the number 1 fighter in Ontario from 1990 to 1993. He won the silver medal at the 1997 North American Karate Championships and the Bronze at the 1998 World Championships.

Kwanjangnim Miner believes in training through motivation and not intimidation. He enjoys running, working out and camping when he is not at the school or teaching.

Kwanjangnim Miner is actively training for his seventh Dahn in the art of Taekwon-do, plus has taken up the art of Hapkido under the tutelage of Grand Master Rudy Timmerman, Head of the National Korean Martial Arts Association. He tested and achieved his 3rd dahn in Kong Shin Bup Hapkido. This style of hapkido is a very difficult style to achieve black belt in therefore there are very few people worldwide who hold this ranking. He has taken to this style so much that he is now actively pursuing his third dahn.

Kwanjangnim Miner was elected as one of the NKMAA coaches for the North American team that went to the World championships in Busan, South Korea in April of 2006. Under his instruction, 9 members brought back 12 medals in sparring, weapons, self defense and patterns.

Kwanjangnim Miner is the regional director for the NKMAA for Southern Ontario. NKMAA (National Korean Martial Arts Association) is one of the oldest martial arts organizations in North America and it provides a legitimate certification for the serious practitioner of the Korean martial arts.

Kwanjangnim Miner is the only N.C.C.P LEVEL TWO coach in the Burlington area for Taekwon Do.
